LED for Sustainability
The word Sustainable has almost got the same charm as organic, all-natural or free range. But, it means more than just saving the environment. How does LED play into a Sustainable business?
Profit makes a business truly sustainable plain and simple, and without it your business isn't operating. Running LED in your grow improves your bottom line by consuming less power from the wall and also reduces collateral expenses in HVAC and maintenance costs. No bulbs to replace, and no labor to do it.
If your employees are happy and healthy, your business will run more smoothly and for a longer time. LEDs allows for higher visibility with new full spectrum formulations and UV is optional and ideally managed by the operator to reduce grower exposure. People are the second leg on the Sustainable stool.
People, Planet, Profit. Economy, Environment and Equity (social that is).

Last bulb, not Least
It is easy to get lost in the green rush and follow the dollar signs. And that's cool, we Highly recommend it or else you won't be looking for lights with us! But let's remember that mother earth brought us these fine plants and we owe her for that.
Fluorescent bulbs are inefficient by todays standards, require frequent replacement and contain a healthy dose of Mercury. The liquid metal that our parents played with and also made all those Hatters, Mad. HPS and Metal Halide also contain Mercury and without proper recycling (which we will help facilitate), that stuff ends up back in the environment. Not to mention the Carbon footprint savings you will have by running LEDs. Feel good about the evolution to new technology!
And since LEDs can run such a long time, either in your garden or an urban verticle lettuce farm in a second life, we can prolong the magic of today's products to produce food and affordable means for farmers to do so as a byproduct of Industry driven innovation! Social and Environmental Sustainability.
If you want to teach people a new way of thinking, don't bother trying to teach them. Instead, give them a tool, the use of which will lead to new ways of thinking."

So, no only can you make more money, but you can have a positive impact on the future of Agriculture.
Sustainable simply means: Win-Win.
The early adopters have paid the price (literally and figuratively), to pave the way for the current technology we are so fortunate to run today.
Take care of your bottom line, and make a better work environment for your people, and the next generations.
We still advocate for personal protective equipment (PPE) to help manage circadian rhythms, combat lunacy and blue light toxicity! Stay tuned for an in depth dive in to how light quality effects people and plants, in strangely similar ways.
